#offthegrid hit a new level of urbex weirdness recently. We’d been hearing about the Prehistoric Forest, this abandoned dinosaur theme park in Irish Hills, MI for a few years now. When we realized it was only about a mile from MI Fest, which we happened to be covering, the #offthegrid crew and I jumped at the chance.
It was every bit as creepy as an abandoned dinosaur theme park from the 1960s ought to be. Built in 1963, the park offered visitors the unique opportunity to “ride a safari train to the lost world of the giant dinosaurs.”
